Neurally adjusted ventilatory assist (NAVA) promotes lung-protective synchronous ventilation in proportion to the patient’s needs with higher diaphragmatic efficiency regardless of patient category or size. In our efforts to improve neonatal patient outcomes, we will explore the latest clinical evidence utilizing the electrical activity of the diaphragm (Edi) monitoring and NAVA ventilation.
