TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed for emergency medicine health care professionals. It also provides an excellent educational opportunity for physicians and allied health professionals who are peripherally involved in the management of ill or injured patients.
WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND
As the first line of defense against injury and illness, emergency medicine providers serve an extraordinary public safety function. Health care delivery models, reimbursement, and the technical care of medical and trauma patients is changing rapidly. Based upon participant evaluations, survey feedback, and other assessment methods, the need for cutting edge updates about emergency medicine has been identified. EDUCATIONAL METHODS
Speakers will present materials in lecture format as well as hands-on practical skills stations. Q&A will be used to facilitate the dissemination of up-to-date information. An audience response system will be used to measure participant understanding.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
At the end of the activity, participants should be able to:
• Identify and use proper equipment for difficult airway management
• Select and dose appropriate antidotes for acute poisonings
• Recognize injuries suspicious for nonaccidental pediatric trauma
• Incorporate point of care ultrasound into routine emergency practice
• Apply evidence-based decision makingduring critical trauma management
• Advocate for systematic change to reduce ED overcrowding
ACCREDITATION
The University of California, Davis, Health System is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians
CREDIT DESIGNATION
PHYSICIAN CREDIT: The University of California, Davis, Health System designates this live activity for a maximum of 26.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Credits™ acceptable for other health care providers
Nurse: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME. For the purpose of re-licensure, the California Board of Registered Nursing accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (report a maximum of 26.5 hours of credit and fill in “CME Category 1” for the provider number).

Tuition is $825 for physicians and $695 for all others. Confirmation of registration will be sent within two weeks after receipt of registration form. The fees will increase after January 20, 2017.
Tuition includes continental breakfasts, après ski snacks, electronic syllabus, and an online certificate of attendance. Tuition may be paid by check, American Express, Discover, MasterCard or VISA. Cash is not accepted. Conference materials cannot be guaranteed unless registration is received by February 10, 2017. The Office of Continuing Medical Education reserves the right to cancel this conference. In such a case, a full refund of registration fees will be given. Registration forms received without payment will not be processed until payment is received, and payment must follow within 10 days. Early discount rates are honored if payment is received by the date noted on the registration form. After that date, the late fee is applied.
Cancellation and Refund Policy: A refund of tuition, less $75 administrative fee, will be allowed if requested in writing by February 10, 2017. No refunds will be provided after this date.
