About the World Medical Innovation Forum
The World Medical Innovation Forum, hosted by Partners HealthCare, is a global gathering of more than 1,700 senior health care leaders in the heart of Boston. It was established to respond to the intensifying transformation of health care and its impact on innovation. The Forum is rooted in the belief that no matter the magnitude of that change, the center of health care needs to be a shared, fundamental commitment to collaborative innovation – industry and academia working together to improve patient lives. The World Medical Innovation Forum focuses on the advancements and opportunities of Artificial Intelligence.
The 2019 World Medical Innovation Forum will bring together global leaders in the emerging discipline of artificial intelligence and machine learning for in-depth conversations on the fast-developing novel technologies that characterize this early era of adoption. Impact on patients, clinicians and systems will be examined in depth. The Forum panels, consisting of industry and investment executives, teamed with Harvard clinical and research leaders, will focus on patient interactions across care settings, and the role technology and data can play in advancing knowledge discovery and care delivery.
The model for the World Medical Innovation Forum enables innovators from around the globe to meet, explore, challenge, and reflect on the most important issues influencing the adoption of novel technologies in healthcare. The core of the Forum is passionate conversation among principals on the stage and throughout the venue – there are no presentations. The overarching goal is to provide audience members with unique, actionable insights and include them in a dialogue amongst like-minded leaders from the US and more than 30 countries.
Forum keynoters will include the CEOs of Amgen, Nuance, Philips, Siemens Healthcare, Wolters Kluwer Health and dozens of top investors, emerging company CEOs, and senior Harvard faculty. Be part of the conversation – see how experts are driving AI into every facet of health care.
In addition to examining the cutting-edge issues in the field, the Forum will feature presentations from emerging investigators called First Look, the Discovery Café, and the “Disruptive Dozen-12 emerging technologies with the potential to revolutionize the selected field over the next twelve months.
Why Artificial Intelligence?
Artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced technologies are pushing the boundaries in healthcare. These solutions hold immense potential to advance the quality of patient care, reduce costs, and improve outcomes. Nevertheless, the complex healthcare landscape makes it challenging to translate these breakthroughs into the clinic. Navigating the medical, operational, economic and ethical impacts of these solutions is required to ensure that patients, providers and healthcare organizations rapidly benefit.
The potential impact of AI on healthcare is significant, with $450 billion projected in annual savings (out of $3 trillion in annual healthcare costs), and a $1,000 annual reduction in medical costs for every man, woman and child. Learn how this rapidly growing market is poised for creative disruption in healthcare, including more rapid diagnoses, innovative new treatments, reducing medical errors, and much more.
