The Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association and Queensland Health welcomes hospital and health service leaders from around the world to Brisbane for the 42nd World Hospital Congress, 10-12 October 2018 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC), Australia.
Theme: Innovate | Integrate | Inspire - How can healthcare evolve to meet 21st century demands?
The World Hospital Congress, under the umbrella of the International Hospital Federation, is a unique global event that brings key health leaders together annually to share views and experiences, network and develop excellence in healthcare and hospitals leadership. Through this forum multidisciplinary exchange of knowledge, expertise and experiences are facilitated, together with dialogue on best practices in leadership in hospital and healthcare management and delivery of services.
KEY DATES
International Hospital Federation Awards10 October 2018
The IHF Awards recognizes and honors hospitals and healthcare organizations for innovation, excellence, outstanding achievements and best practices in areas that are worthy of international recognition. The Awards Ceremony will be held during the 42nd IHF World Hospital Congress on 10-12 October in Brisbane, Australia.
There are four Award Categories:
- IHF/Dr Kwang Tae Kim Grand Award
- IHF/EOH Excellence Award for Leadership and Management in Healthcare
- IHF/Austco Excellence Award for Quality & Safety and Patient-centered Care
- IHF/Bionexo Excellence Award for Corporate Social Responsibility

FULL CONGRESS REGISTRATION
Full Congress Registration includes
- Attendance to all Congress sessions and the Trade Exhibition, daytime catering on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
- A Congress satchel containing the Congress Program Book
- Attendance to the Welcome Reception on Wednesday 10 October.
- Tickets to the Congress Gala Dinner are not included in the registration fee and must be purchased in addition to Congress registrations.

DAY ONLY REGISTRATION (10, 11 OR 12 OCTOBER)
Day Only Registration includes:
- Attendance to sessions and daytime catering and access to the Trade Exhibition on the day of the registration
- Congress satchel containing the Congress Program Book.
- Day only registration does not include attendance at the social functions, however day delegates are welcome to purchase tickets to the Welcome Reception and/or Congress Gala Dinner.

Venue
The IHF World Hospital Congress 2018 will be held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC), located at Merivale and Glenelg Street, South Brisbane, QLD 4101.
Delegates are encouraged to access BCEC via Merivale Street (map below), with the Congress held in the Great Hall.

Parking
BCEC provides undercover parking for 1,500 vehicles, with direct lift access to the venue's facilities.
Accessible parking for people with a disability are available in car parks 1, 2 & 3, entry off Merivale Street. Car park 3 entry can also be accessed from the corner of Grey Street and Russell Walk.

Public transport
Trains: There are two train stations within a five minute walk of the Centre. South Bank Station accessed from Tribune Street and South Brisbane Railway Station adjacent to the Convention Centre in Grey Street.
Bus services: South Bank is serviced by two bus stations: The Cultural Centre Station on Melbourne Street and the South Bank Busway Station cnr of Colchester and Tribune Streets, South Bank. A free city loop bus service circles Brisbane’s Central Business District including South Bank.
